That You'll Remember Me
We played all day
In the cold damp grass
Just trying to reach the sun
Like a ripe orange from the tree
But I’m hoping if you remember this
That you’ll remember me
As the leaves would change
So would our moods
You wanted to rake the autumn carpet
And jump into the mass
I would walk upon leaves
To see the blades of grass
The winter came and went
The Icicles broke outside our window
You’d watch me as I shivered
Then come to my extrication
I’d hide under your arms
Your heart beat and its vibration
Your love had known no bounds
Along with the beauty of your face
We still reach for the sun
We’ve learned from futility
But now I always know
That you’ll remember me
